Marta, who lives in Barcelona, felt deeply moved to join WCK after witnessing their quick and compassionate response to the devastating floods in Valencia in 2024. She has always admired Chef José Andrés, a true hero in her family, and firmly believes that WCK embodies the same values of community, strength, and solidarity that fuel her passion for running.Earlier this year, after months of intense training, Marta lost her motivation and stepped back from racing. Seeing so much suffering in the world made her question the purpose of competing. But joining the WCK team reignited a powerful new reason to run.

Now, the 2025 Valencia Marathon is far more than a race it is a chance to stand up for human rights, to raise critical support with donations, and to prove how sport can inspire hope even in the darkest times. This year, Marta won’t just run with her legs, she will run with her heart, driven by the courage and hope of every person WCK helps.
