Hello friends, family, and anyone else kind enough to be here.

On 7th December 2025 I will be running the Valencia Marathon, on behalf of the World Central Kitchen. WCK is an organization that does incredible and brave work by setting up emergency kitchens in areas destroyed by war and natural disaster.

Last year alone they provided 109 million hot meals to people in Palestine, Ukraine, Spain, Pakistan, and 16 other countries. The list is long. And oftentimes, as in Gaza, their team are at direct risk of losing their lives in the process of supporting others.

After the floods in Valencia in late 2024, I saw their work first hand. In the flooded areas, with mud knee deep, and government help scarce, I saw WCK. They were there to provide warm meals to people who had lost homes and their livelihoods. It truly amazed me how quickly and effectively they could set up their infrastructure. The ground zero support was then quickly scaled to huge paella’s that they would cook in the centre of Valencia before running out to the affected zones.

Their speed, their bravery and above all their mission is something I’m in awe of.

So, as I trudge along over the next couple of months, knees quivering and lungs busting, I do so in the knowledge that anything we raise will go to a place that makes a real difference.
